Alabama Black Belt Adventures

Alabama Black Belt Adventures is a regional tourism organization serving Alabama’s 23-county Black Belt region. By spotlighting the area’s natural beauty, small businesses, and cultural events, the organization works to strengthen local economies and celebrate what makes the Black Belt so distinctive.

With the support and encouragement of its executive director, I created an internship after recognizing how special the Black Belt is and wanting to help share its story. What began as an idea has become one of the most rewarding experiences of my college career.

Through video storytelling and strategic social media campaigns, I showcase local businesses, festivals, and the character of each county across Facebook and Instagram. I have grown our audience by 500+ on Instagram and 3,000+ on Facebook, with videos reaching up to 805K views. I have also led live event coverage, taken over the Wetumpka Wildlife Art Festival Instagram, and conducted 30+ community impact surveys at the Airing of the Quilts Festival in Gee’s Bend.
