Auburn-Opelika Tourism

My internship with Auburn-Opelika Tourism has meant more to me than I can fully put into words. It has challenged me, stretched me, and helped me grow in ways that go far beyond marketing.

As a Marketing and Communications Intern, I’ve had the opportunity to work across public relations, social media, website content, event marketing, billboard design, short-form video production, and even radio advertising. I help tell the stories of local businesses, entrepreneurs, and experiences that make this community so special. From brainstorming campaigns to seeing them live on billboards or hearing them on the radio, I’ve learned how to carry an idea from concept to completion.

More than anything, this internship has taught me how to work as part of a team, communicate clearly, and lead with confidence and humility. I’ve grown professionally in strategy and execution, but I’ve also grown personally in resilience, collaboration, and belief in my own voice. Auburn-Opelika Tourism holds a special place in my heart, and it always will.

In a Nutshell

When I step into the lead intern role, I guide a project from concept to completion, producing the video, writing the press release or landing page, contributing to billboard design, and speaking on local radio to bring the campaign fully to life. This page highlights my work on the Auburn-Opelika Experience campaign.
