Auburn OCM’s Social Media Intern
I need to hire somebody to pinch me every day because my internship with Auburn OCM (Office of Communications and Marketing) is a dream I never thought would become reality.
As a Social Media Intern, I help create content for Auburn University's main social media accounts and contribute ideas for campaigns that connect with students, alumni, fans, and future Tigers. One of my favorite parts of the job is getting to engage directly with the community by liking, commenting, and reposting content created by Auburn students. It may seem simple, but knowing that a small interaction from Auburn University can make someone's day is incredibly rewarding.
This role has allowed me to be innovative and constantly challenged. Every day, I am learning how to think strategically about social media. We study what other universities are doing, ask ourselves how Auburn can do it differently.
I am learning how to represent one of the nation's most recognizable university brands, and one that I love dearly. What an experience.
So far, I’ve had the opportunity to redesign our instagram highlight bubbles. I even hand-drew Samford Hall and the megaphone!
I’ve also begun teaching myself Adobe Premiere Pro, where I used the screen effect on a post, and of course, created lots of videos.
